Methodology
Job posting counts are collected automatically via the Adzuna API on the first of each month using standardized search terms with "United States" as the location filter. The same search terms are used every month to ensure consistent month-over-month comparison. Data reflects the total number of active job postings matching each search term at the time of collection, not hires or applications. Trends are calculated by comparing the most recent month to the trailing average of prior months (up to 12 months back), which smooths out one-off spikes or dips in a single month's posting volume.
This data is collected and published by Career Compass as a public resource for career decision-making. We do not guarantee accuracy and recommend using this data alongside other sources such as the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
